The organic market: Hawita enjoys success at leading trade fair IPM

The organic trend has reached the world of horticulture. Anyone who wants to grow herbs and vegetables for the rapidly growing market for organic products needs the right organic soil. The Hawita Group introduced six organic substrates to industry professionals at the IPM international plant fair in Essen.

With 1500 exhibitors and 60 000 visitors, the IPM is the world's largest trade fair for horticulture. "This year the response was great", said Simon Tabeling, managing partner of the Hawita Group. The demand for conventional substrates and the new colourful  plant pots also exceeded all expectations. There was no evidence of any impending recession at the exhibition stand. According to the trade fair organisers, 36% of the visitors came from abroad. "This international focus is what makes the IPM so interesting for the Hawita Group", said Tabeling.

At the trade fair, the management took the opportunity to bid farewell to the long-standing managing partner of Technoplant, Franz kleine Holthaus, as he goes into retirement.
